The mission of AACS is to enable people with emotional, behavioural and complex needs to reach their full potential. This is achieved by having an approach which encompasses the following elements:

Our aim is to give each child and young person opportunities to develop and learn. We will do this by providing a supportive environment which is child centered and provides warmth, structure and is focused on developing relationships, means of coping and learning independent living skills. We are registered with Ofsted as a Children’s Home in respect of our residential provision for 1 residential placement in each of our homes, and operate over a 52-week period. Our service caters for male and females between the ages 8-18 years.

All staff receives training in Positive Behaviour Support which includes the use of physical interventions and is accredited through British Institute of Learning disabilities (BILD).
Working in conjunction with local authorities, we offer a bespoke package to each and every child or young person. Each of our young people receives of 2-1 staff support, allowing them to thrive and achieve. As a company, we benefit from a vast array of skillsets and knowledge, allowing our children or young people to develop and realising their full potential, whilst being happy and feeling valued.
We are committed to providing care to children/young people on a long/medium/short-term basis depending on their needs. Our homes provide a safe, stimulating and supporting family environment, where any child/young person cared for can live, learn and develop. Our homes are designed to provide a high standard of care and accommodation for young people.
We work in partnership with local education authorities to ensure all of our young people are accessing some form of education provision that meets their needs and is bespoke to them, this includes working with virtual schools, SEN and SEMH education provisions as well online and onsite education opportunities.
Our aim for the Children and Young people who are placed with us is for them to have the tools and skills to go on to achieve independence, or in some cases, return to the family home.
Our Staff
The staff team consists of a balance of male & female members from various backgrounds who have extensive experience of residential work and knowledge. The company has lots of positive role models and if needed staff from other services could also support the home. To ensure the suitability of staff, AACS ensure a robust Recruitment & Selection Criteria ensure that all staff are vetted through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) system.
The staffing team offer a variety of skills and are trained in the following mandatory courses:

• General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)
• Health And Safety
• Ligature
• Medication
• Radicalisation And Extremism
• Safeguarding
• Self-Harming Behaviour

Training is also provided in the forms of:
• Managing Challenging Behaviours
• Breakaway / Physical Intervention (PBS)
• PACE Therapeutic Parenting model
• Care planning & record keeping
• Positive Behavioural support
Further training will be provided during employment for managers and care staff. AACS adhere to staff qualification target as set out in Quality Standards for Children’s Homes (Care Standards Act 2000 in relation to children’s homes).
Staff receive regular supervision/Appraisal and training and are required to hold NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care or Children & Young People’s Workforce Diploma Level 3 (as a minimum), should staff not hold this they will be enrolled onto an NVQ Level 4 Children & Young people.
